Theme:
The theme of “The life of Pi” is an implied theme for it asks the message the story that it conveys.
Symbolism:
·        (The lotus flower with a piece of tooth)- I think this means danger and a caution to all travelers to not let the beauty of the island deceived them
·        (the meerkats in a sole island)- This is quit bizarre for meerkats to stay on top of the ground and be vulnerable to the predators. I think this explain that living in that island will eradicate you and your nature.
·        ( when Richard Parker stare at the water and Pi saw some images) – I think that explains their connection w/ each other, that what it sees he also see, and lead to the thought that Pi considered Himself  as Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger)

1.     What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
·        The title of the film was the core of the story evolves how “Life of Pi” change when that tragic accident happened and how he manage to survive after a life in death experience at the sea. It also conveys how Pi views his life and that by telling the story with Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger) as his companion let him live and help him hold on.

2.     Among the characters, to whom can you relate to?
I think I will choose Pi, because when everything goes down and you think that all your hopes are lost just always remember that God is watching and He will not abandon you. And if you have already offered yourself into his will, you will view life differently. That was the message Pi has let me realize and let me bear in mind.
3.     Which part of the presentation struck you the most? Why?
When Pi lost his family in split seconds, it was the most dreadful thing that might happened to a person. Losing the reason you live for is like losing your life, my family is my life and I can’t bear the idea of losing them.
4.     What is the movie’s message?
Don’t lose hope, always trust in the Will of God, view life in a positive experience and always have faith. These were just a few view of what the movie is implicates. Maybe this movie was made for those people who had a very bad experience in life, for them to choose whether to move on or to stay on that miserable on reminiscing the pain in the made by their past.
5.     Did I like this in general? Why?
Yes, this was a very remarkable movie and had captured my thoughts. I really give the complement to the author of this fiction that was collaborated as a movie. This had amazed e from the beginning till the end. All of the unexpected revelations had made the story astonishing and captivating. The “Life of Pi” was beyond my expectations and had given me a great time and a new perspective in life.
6.     Did I agree with the main theme/purpose? Why or why not?
Yes, I strongly agree with the purpose of the writer to utter the things we supposed to do, viewing life as in a positive way. With this standpoint we are able to live our lives as upright as possible.
7.     What specifically did I like/dislike? Why?
- I like the concept of the writer and how he materialized his ideas to create a new and astounding story of survival and life.
-I don’t like the idea of discrimination and prejudice, when the ship’s cook didn’t respect Pi’s family for being a Hindu and a vegetarian. That stated the distinction of religions and culture of different nations.
8. Are there any aspects of theme which are left ambiguous at the end? Why?
I really am confused about the ending of the story and leave a question in my mind of
What was the actual/ true statement? Is it the story were Pi was joined by Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger) or the testimony w/c he told the Japanese investigators. That was the biggest mystery on that story.
8.     How does this film relate to the things that are happening in your life?
Like Pi I also lost my father and that was a memory that I don’t want to remember recollect over and over again for it just obstruct my objective to move on. I also continued my life after I lost him but life was never the same again. But that is the reality of life and I chose to face it w/ acceptance and faith that there is always a very good plan God had constructed just for me.
