Symbolism: There are many symbolisms that the movie conceals even in its characters.
The Priest: he symbolizes clemency and benevolence or compassion, characters that our loving God has. His act of giving forgiveness is what rules the world and what the hope of his son/daughter that whatever you did that is wrong just asks forgiveness and He will forgive you.
Javert: He symbolizes nobility and integrity or justice, I believe that his philosophy in life was after Hammurabi’s code” an eye for an eye, and tooth for a tooth.” He is the representation of how law must be done; laws that will never pardon and will never have any reservations.
Jean Valjean: He symbolizes determination and consideration, the will to reach his goals, his will to find his place in the society, the will to find a new life after the other one has been devastated. He was a representation of how man can be strong and face the struggles of life and the criticizing eyes of the society.
Fantine: the sacrifices that our parents can carry out just to express and there love and to raise, is unbearable. They will do anything just to give us the life that they want us to have.
Cosette, Marius and Eponine: love is just a 4 letter word but has an explicit vast meaning. It is the dimpliest but the most complicated thing in the world. These young fellow just discover it.
1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
-life is a battle field , it is full of  struggles, challenges and complications. Then “Les Miserables” tells that even life can be a pain in the back it will always have its moment where we are lifted from those misery with love and Compassion.
 2. Among the characters, to whom can you relate to?
-I can relate to Jean Valjean, life is unpredictable most of times. Like Jean Valjean struggles in life, I had also face a lot of struggles that I thought I can’t surpass but there is always  hope for everyone. As Jean Valjean had his time to rise back up again, I too will have my moment; a moment that will let me get out of my “Les Miserables”. He will be my inspiration and my example to face life’s challenges.
3. Which part of the presentation struck you the most? Why?
-death may not be the end but for us mere humans it is the end of our becoming. The death of Jean Valjean is what captured my interests for I realized that life is full o0f mystery and man may face a lot of misery and victory there is always an end to everything.
4. What is the movie’s message?
-never let go on what you believe, never give up on the challenges of life and never lose hope. There will always be a rainbow after a rain, a bright star in the vast universe. If you will just believe that you can and do what you must do to aim and achieve what you wanted the most then there is always hope.

-Yes, I really like the story for it captivates my interest. It had illustrated life’s struggles and how to deal with it. That forgiveness is will give you a inner peace and by being generous to those who are in need the most will give you the sense of fulfillment.
6. Did I agree with the main theme/purpose? Why or why not?
-Yes, because life is but full of misery and full of complications but we take it as a challenge and chose not the past set our present and reflect to our future.

- The part when Jean Valjean helped Fantine from the wrath of the society and takes care of Cosette where he gave her a new life.

Movie Analysis “Life of Pi”

Title:           “Life of Pi”
Genre:        Fiction
Characters:
·            ( Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel)
·               Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger)

Setting
The story happened in the middle of the Pacific Ocean

Plot:
Pi is a boy that grew on the land of French India; he was a son of the owner of a wildlife zoo and believes in many religions. He was fascinated with the tiger that was called Richard Parker. When his family decided to migrate to the US they brought their animals with but when they are travelling through the Pacific Ocean a tragedy happened, the ship that carrying his whole family had shipwreck w/ an unidentified reason. This leaves him with a boat a small amount of supply and 4 wild beasts including a ferocious Bengal Tiger. With these companions he struggle for life and survival. He learns a lot of things and that includes how to tame a tiger. When he already loose his hopes, a mysterious island pop up and amazed him, but that island was deceiving it was a killer and a carnivore. Well after knowing what the island is capable of he decided to leave, and again float in the horizon of the pacific. And he had a long journey before he finds salvation and safety, on that very moment his long companion Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger) decide to left and abandon him. He was forced to tell another story by the Japanese investigator, for they don’t believe anything that he said and that set the difference between a positive outlook and the negative perception of his life.

Theme:
The theme of “The life of Pi” is an implied theme for it asks the message the story that it conveys.
Symbolism:
·        (The lotus flower with a piece of tooth)- I think this means danger and a caution to all travelers to not let the beauty of the island deceived them
·        (the meerkats in a sole island)- This is quit bizarre for meerkats to stay on top of the ground and be vulnerable to the predators. I think this explain that living in that island will eradicate you and your nature.
·        ( when Richard Parker stare at the water and Pi saw some images) – I think that explains their connection w/ each other, that what it sees he also see, and lead to the thought that Pi considered Himself  as Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger)

1.     What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
·        The title of the film was the core of the story evolves how “Life of Pi” change when that tragic accident happened and how he manage to survive after a life in death experience at the sea. It also conveys how Pi views his life and that by telling the story with Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger) as his companion let him live and help him hold on.

2.     Among the characters, to whom can you relate to?
I think I will choose Pi, because when everything goes down and you think that all your hopes are lost just always remember that God is watching and He will not abandon you. And if you have already offered yourself into his will, you will view life differently. That was the message Pi has let me realize and let me bear in mind.
3.     Which part of the presentation struck you the most? Why?
When Pi lost his family in split seconds, it was the most dreadful thing that might happened to a person. Losing the reason you live for is like losing your life, my family is my life and I can’t bear the idea of losing them.
4.     What is the movie’s message?
Don’t lose hope, always trust in the Will of God, view life in a positive experience and always have faith. These were just a few view of what the movie is implicates. Maybe this movie was made for those people who had a very bad experience in life, for them to choose whether to move on or to stay on that miserable on reminiscing the pain in the made by their past.
5.     Did I like this in general? Why?
Yes, this was a very remarkable movie and had captured my thoughts. I really give the complement to the author of this fiction that was collaborated as a movie. This had amazed e from the beginning till the end. All of the unexpected revelations had made the story astonishing and captivating. The “Life of Pi” was beyond my expectations and had given me a great time and a new perspective in life.
6.     Did I agree with the main theme/purpose? Why or why not?
Yes, I strongly agree with the purpose of the writer to utter the things we supposed to do, viewing life as in a positive way. With this standpoint we are able to live our lives as upright as possible.
7.     What specifically did I like/dislike? Why?
- I like the concept of the writer and how he materialized his ideas to create a new and astounding story of survival and life.
-I don’t like the idea of discrimination and prejudice, when the ship’s cook didn’t respect Pi’s family for being a Hindu and a vegetarian. That stated the distinction of religions and culture of different nations.
8. Are there any aspects of theme which are left ambiguous at the end? Why?
I really am confused about the ending of the story and leave a question in my mind of
What was the actual/ true statement? Is it the story were Pi was joined by Richard Parker (the Bengal tiger) or the testimony w/c he told the Japanese investigators. That was the biggest mystery on that story.
8.     How does this film relate to the things that are happening in your life?
Like Pi I also lost my father and that was a memory that I don’t want to remember recollect over and over again for it just obstruct my objective to move on. I also continued my life after I lost him but life was never the same again. But that is the reality of life and I chose to face it w/ acceptance and faith that there is always a very good plan God had constructed just for me.

conversing songs.. (female and male version)

If I were a Boy
 ( Beyonce  Knowles)

If I were a boy even just for a day
I'd roll out of bed in the morning
And throw on what I wanted
And go drink beer with the guys

And chase after girls
I'd kick it with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it
'Cause they stick up for me

If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man

I'd listen to her
'Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
'Cause he's taking you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

If I were a boy
I would turn off my phone
Tell everyone it's broken
So they'd think that I was sleeping alone

I'd put myself first
And make the rules as I go
'Cause I know that she'd be faithful
Waiting for me to come home, to come home

If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man

I'd listen to her
'Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
'Cause he's taking you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

It's a little too late for you to come back
Say it's just a mistake
Think I'd forgive you like that
If you thought I would wait for you
You thought wrong

But you're just a boy
You don't understand
And you don't understand, oh
How it feels to love a girl
Someday you wish you were a better man

You don't listen to her
You don't care how it hurts
Until you lose the one you wanted
'Cause you're taking her for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
But you're just a boy

If I were a girl

(Jason Chen)

If I were a girl
Even just for a day
I'd roll out of bed in the morning
Put up all my makeup and go
Go shop with the girls
And get my nails done
I would flirt with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it
Because theyd cover for me

If I were a girl
I think I could understand
What it mean to love a man
I swear I'd do the best I can
I'd listen to him
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause she's taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

If I were a girl
I would turn off my phone
I would lie and say it's broken
So he wouldn't know
That I'm unfaithful
I'd put myself first
And make the rules as I go
Cause I know hell always be there
Faithfully, waiting at home (waiting at home)

my eldorado.

Eldorado

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied-
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

Realization
2012 has shown me how complicated life is, that the sweetness of it isn’t permanent like the candy that losses its flavour. That you cannot always rely on people you thought you can trust, for this year I have face the cruelty of treachery. That even your own flesh and blood can betray you and hit you in the face so hard that you will fall quickly to the ground with them laughing and stepping there on your back assuring that you will never get back up. But with this awful situation of my family I realize that I am fortunate with my friends and the people who love me. I also realize that when life gives you lemon, then it is time to make lemonade, that there is always a solution to every problems of life. I really thank God for giving me hope and making me strong for I believe that he always has the reason for giving as anything, and I have no right to question it for I am just a mere human
Learning
I learned many things last year, I always want to learn. For me learning is an everyday routine that motivates me in facing tomorrow. I learn that if I trust myself and give a full blow of guts to those things I thought impossible for me to do, I will eventually succeed.
Resolution
Resolution should be done everyday not only every new year, so my resolution for this year will just come up any time. Maybe I will just work hard and harder as I study harder and harder to reach my goal. To have  an organized time management and always have time for my precious love ones and my friends.
